The gayborhood's Halloween. A mile of Santa Monica Blvd through the Rainbow District closes to traffic and West Hollywood's LGBTQ+ community takes the street in costume — stages, DJs and food trucks the whole way. Free, no ticket, no gate. WeHo has thrown it every Halloween since 1987 as the queer autumn counterpart to Pride.
West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval is the biggest Halloween street party in the country — more than 100,000 people in costume on Santa Monica Boulevard, in the heart of the Rainbow District. It runs Saturday, October 31, 2026 from 6 to 11pm, it is free, and there are no tickets: you show up, you walk the boulevard.
The street closes between N. Doheny Drive and N. La Cienega Boulevard. The main stage sits at Santa Monica and N. San Vicente with a live DJ, food trucks line the route, and the costumes are the show — expect drag, leather, full-body builds and a lot of people who started sewing in August.
The party does not end at 11. The queer bars along the boulevard — Micky's, The Abbey, Revolver, Trunks, GYM Bar, Rocco's — run their own Halloween nights before and after the street closure, and the week leading up has drag brunches, costume contests and warm-up parties across LA. No. The Carnaval is free and there are no tickets or wristbands. Bar parties around it are ticketed or have a cover — each event on this page shows its own price.

Take the free WeHo Halloween Ride: it runs along Santa Monica Boulevard between N. La Brea Avenue and N. Kings Road from 6pm to 3am, and select vehicles connect to the Hollywood/Highland Metro station from 6pm to midnight. Driving in is slow and parking is scarce — if you must, park east or west of the closure and ride in.
No. Alcohol and public drinking are not allowed on the boulevard. The bars along the route are the place for that, and most of them have Halloween nights running.
Keep it light. Backpacks, camera cases and tote bags are not permitted; clear plastic bags are. No weapons, fireworks or drones. Kids and pets are strongly discouraged.
The street reopens, and the crowd moves into the bars and the ticketed parties. The Friday and Sunday events on this page are the warm-up and the afters — most of the weekend's dance parties are on those nights.
